Marc VAN DEUN  -  About

I live in a provincial town in the environment of Antwerp, Belgium.

My father (Jos Van Deun, MFIAP in 1991) was a perfect master in photography.

I shoot just for fun and take part in photocontests.  In the past I was member of a photoclub but I have chosen to practice solo since 1999.
I always prefered monochrome prints; my colour prints too are handmade by myself.  Since 2006 I finish all by PC and a photoprinter.

I am author FIAP since

FIAP is founded in 1950 by Belgian Dr. Maurice Van de Wijer and is a worldwide organisation to promote photography.  Their website: www.fiap.net

For the non-initiated, in the popular language, you can compare the AFIAP distinction to a certificate of qualification, the EFIAP distinction to a certificate of mastery and the MFIAP distinction to the doctorate.

MFIAP, introduced in 1980, is the highest award.

In 1992 an addendum on 4 new EFIAP levels (Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum) is achieved.

Since 2016 3 levels "Diamond" after EFIAP/p are introduced.

EFIAP/g is a decent level.

Up to  April 2023 I could monitor authors with EFIAP/g resident in Argentina (1), Australia (2), Belgium (10), the Netherlands (2),  Germany (2), Austria (1), Hungary (1), Croatia (1),  Poland (1), Romania (6), Ukraine (1), Serbia (2), Slovenia (3), Slovakia (1), Kazakhstan (1), Greece (4), Italy (16), Cyprus (2),  Algeria (1),  Ireland (1), Nothern Ireland (1), Scotland (1), Wales (1), U.K. (24),  Singapore (1), Israel (1), India (2), Macao (3), Norway (5), Denmark (3), Sweden (2), Finland (5), Iran (1), Bahrain (1), Saudi Arabia (1), United Arab Emirates (1), Vietnam (1) , South Korea (1) , USA (1) and New Zealand (1).
